Gas Manufacturer Intermediate Standard. Calibration mixtures that are analyzed against existing SRMs. However a GMIS do not provide direct traceability and so may not be suitable for some applications. For example, with US-EPA requiremenets CEMS must be calibrated using a protocol accurate to within ±2%. A protocol prepared with a GMIS may not guarantee such accuracy.
