Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) is a method to reduce nitric oxide emissions in conventional power plants. During the process, either ammonia or urea is used as the reductant to have the chemical redox reaction with the nitric oxide, resulting diatomic nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water. Differing from Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), this method does not require a catalyst.
