The Hydrocarbon Engineering journal published a Linde article “As cold as ice” in its February 2013 issue.
The world´s northernmost LNG processing plant has been built on the island of Melkoya, near Hammerfest in Norway. Linde has participated in this project due to its significant expertise in low temperature industrial processes such as LNG as well as its particular capabilities in heat exchanger technology. Especially for this project, Linde proposed and developed a liquefaction process called the Mixed Fluid Cascade (MFC) to ensure that the most energy efficient process technology is applied. Natural gas liquefaction uses a variety of high purity hydrocarbons as process refrigerants and a wide range of HiQ specialty gases and calibration gas mixtures for process control, QC and safety monitoring applications.
